Marc S. Velten
Manager „Advanced Design“, EADS Corporate Research Center
Born in Konstanz in 1968. Studied Industrial Design at the Darmstadt Technical College. During this time, participated in projects with Deutsche Bahn AG and Lufthansa AG. In 1998, joined Daimler Benz AG as a designer, and, in 1999, assumed responsibility for Segment Design in the FT2/KL aircraft concepts department. When EADS (European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company, includes AIRBUS, EUROCOPTER) was formed in 2001, he joined the EADS Corporate Research Centre as an Advanced Design Manager. With his teams in Munich and Hamburg, he has been primarily involved in the development and integration of innovative concepts and design studies for aircraft cabins, integrated design processes and investigations in the fields of passenger comfort and human factors. In addition, his portfolio also includes design customisation for major airlines along with virtual reality design integration. Since 2002, he has performed the additional function of Key Technologies Manager in area 18 "Advanced Concepts and Systems Engineering". Besides all this Velten provides support to the college co-operation project and exhibition series "Industry meets University – Lufträume gestalten”, which he founded in 1999.
