Robert Metzger
Director MunichExpo Veranstaltungs GmbH
Born in Munich in 1964. Between 1983 – 1989, he studied Business and Management Economics in Munich, with traineeships in the USA. His core areas of study were marketing and personnel.
Between 1990 – 2004 he learnt the trade fair business directly at the source, at Messe München GmbH. He managed the IT trade fairs "Systec" and "Systems" and the computer user show "bits & fun".
Since 1998, he has been responsible for the annual materials and product engineering fair MATERIALICA, which he took over from Messe München GmbH as part of an innovative management buy-out at the end of 2003. In February 2004, he founded MunichExpo GmbH, which guaranteed an optimum continuation for MATERIALICA. In November 2004, the company took over the German representation of the Brno trade fair (Veletrhy Brno a.s.) in the Czech Republic. Since May 2005, he has also managed the materials area of the International Trade Fair for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses IHM.
This career shows that Robert Metzger is an absolute trade fair professional and possesses perfect market and industrial knowledge of the field of materials and product engineering.
