The most striking detail of the Concept Car “zaZen“ is the one-piece, transparent roof dome made of the high tech material Makrolon. It stretches from the A-pillar all the way to the rear edge. The transparent polycarbon plate serves as a projection surface for the third brake light. The light in the third brake light is projected onto a holographically treated fi lm by means of two lasers, thus giving the impression as if the third brake light were shining out of what looks like a floating transparent hardtop. The idea of a light surface in a car created by holography combined with a flowing design, one-piece, transparent roof doom is a good example of innovative light technology used in car manufacturing.
