CO2 Efficieny Category
In this category materials, products, surfaces, technologies or processes can be submitted, that are demonstrably reducing CO2 emissions. This may occur e.g. by savings in material components, lower energy costs in manufacturing or processing. But also raw material conservation, recycling or the reduction of manufacturing steps contribute to relive the environment.
Evaluation criteria CO2 Efficiency Category - Form of presentation - Realisation rating - Measured data / experienced data / data - Significant weight reduction, thereby fuel savings or increased payload respectively load capacity of the application Material saving in a component, thereby significant raw material or resource protection - Longer service life, reduced maintenance effort or additive / auxiliary agents, such as: avoiding corrosion and abrasion - Low energy input during manufacture and processing, or fewer amounts of raw material waste, e.g.: virtual technologies, 3D printing, stereo lithography, near-net-shape fabrication - Property profile that leads to significant energy reduction, e.g.: insulation, minimization of friction, reduction of resistance Material property profile that enables sustainable recycling low in CO2 emissions - Material property profile that implements suitable and ecologically sensible secondary applications - Combination & substitution: Saving of raw material and fewer process steps made possible through combination of several technically relevant properties, e.g.: Nanotechnology coatings
With his/her submission, the presenter confirms that the information regarding CO2 saving is correct. The CO2 saving aspect has to be presented in a way that is understandable to the jury.
